Tools for Transformation: Discover Your Point of Power

Among our greatest challenges is maintaining our equilibrium, and learning to communicate with love. In the last issue, we explored nature essences. These "tools for transformation are easy to use and non-toxic, and regular usage supports our long-term wellness. When we take responsibility for ourselves, we contribute to balance on the planet.

I believe Mother Earth is doing what she needs to reclaim her own equilibrium, and the best way we can help Her is to honor Her clarity of purpose by focusing on our own healing. We can recycle, pick up trash and conserve water; however, if we remain toxic within our own minds and hearts, our outer work is diminished. When we honor ourselves by meeting our needs with love and compassion, we contribute to healing on Earth. Using nature essences is one way to accomplish this.

In this issue, I would like to introduce you to another tool for transformation: Point of Power (POP). Your POP is your own natural life rhythm. When you are tuned in to this rhythm, like tuning in to a radio station, you express clearly and your energy remains strong and vital. If you are "off station, you may feel you're not being heard, or you may find yourself exhausted from neglecting your own needs.

POP uses an analogy of the Tree of Life to identify your natural rhythm:  Root, Trunk, Branch and Leaf. Just like trees, we are comprised of many parts. And, also like trees, we must include all the parts to be whole and complete. Explore these four rhythms and experience which one feels most natural to you.

Root

Root is the Sustainer. Like the roots of the tree, you absorb life's experiences through your senses. You are probably quiet, enjoying solitude and nature. You like to be undisturbed, and can easily do one thing for a long time. Others may not understand the depth of your feelings. You are generally kinesthetic, enjoying different textures, sounds, and sights. Your creativity emerges organically: new ideas evolve from your work as you do it.

Trunk

Trunk is the Maintainer, maintaining systems and order. Solid, reliable and consistent, Trunk enjoys gathering details and putting them together to complete a task. The Trunk POP appreciates consistency and resents a lot of interruptions. Change is OK if it happens at a slow steady pace and you get some warning so you can participate. You like to work with form - objects or information you can identify easily or hold in your hands.

Branch

Branch is the Translator and easily grasps ideas and brings them into form. If you are a Branch POP, you create order and systems and revel in the beginning stages, brainstorming ideas, experimenting and creating. You can be interrupted and return to your focus without missing a beat. You are open to suggestions as long as you can use them at your discretion. When you are close to completing a project you may lose interest, as your excitement lies in the start of your next venture. Like the branches of the tree, you connect ideas with the support system

Leaf

Leaf is the Visionary. Your mind is always in motion, creating ideas in formless, timeless images. You initiate a project, then quickly return to the abstract. In your mind's eye, each idea is immediately DONE, even though it isn't actually in form. Your natural rapid rhythm can cause you to feel frustrated when you must explain your idea to someone whose natural rhythm is different than yours. It is normal for you to walk, play with something and talk all at the same time. The Visionary child, for example, is most focused doing homework with radio and TV blasting, as this maintains their natural rhythm while they hold still and concentrate.

Do you see yourself in these rhythms?  As you honor yourself through self-acceptance, you naturally honor others and the Earth. POP contributes to self-appreciation and self-acknowledgment, and provides tools enabling you to expand your potential and take responsibility for your choices.
