Greetings everyone, and Happy 2006!

According to many sources, including my own heart's knowing, 2006 is a year of manifestation. If we focus on what we want, we will see it appear magically before us. If we focus on what we don't want, we will see it appear magically before us.

That reminds me of a Zen saying:

If you understand, things are just as they are.
If you do not understand, things are just as they are.

Which, of course, leads to Werner Erhard's immortal words... Understanding is the booby prize!

It wasn't my intention to confound and confuse when I began to write this newsletter, I just seem to have gotten carried away! And we live in confounding and confusing times right now, so perhaps I just got caught up in the chaos there for a moment.

My wish for the new year is that we each begin to know we have the power, within ourselves, to create the present and future we most desire. It is also my wish that we recognize the many opportunities before us, right now, for sharing our gifts - the ones we see and acknowledge, and the ones we don't yet see in ourselves.

It is in honoring our ordinariness (also known as our most divine gifts) that we will truly be and see the changes we seek in the world around us. Today is the day to begin the journey home to our hearts and our wholeness.

in joy,
nanci

Table of Contents

1. Special Offers available until January 31, 2006
2. Shipping costs have gone up
3. New Resources Page
4. Expanded Themes & Soul Issues
5. Attention Practitioners using featherhawk essences
6. New York Times article on Cells that Read Minds This is a fascinating article, with possible implications and explanations for the phenomenon we call "highly sensitive people." Definitely worth checking out!

1. Check out the new Special Offers page! This will be updated regularly, so check back often to see if your favorites are on sale. Until January 31, 2006, you will save on Yarrow Blend, Trauma Soulution, and the four individual Yarrows: White, Yellow, Pink, and Red.

2. Alas, the US Postal Service has raised their rates, so I have raised shipping prices on the website. I've tried to keep them as reasonable as possible while still covering my expenses. To review the new shipping fees, click here: Shipping

3. After receiving several requests for reading and study recommendations, I have put together a list of several books that have made a difference for me over the years, as well as a few recommended to me by customers and clients that I haven't gotten to yet. I'll be adding to the list from time to time, and if you have a favorite, let me know and I'll consider adding it, also. Find the list here: Resources

4. There are several additions to the Themes & Soul Issues page, starting with Childhood Issues and followed by 11 more topics. If you see a subject in the "Future Topics" section that is of particular interest to you, please let me know and I will get to it next. Otherwise I will continue in alphabetical order and add them as they are completed.

5. If you are a practitioner who uses featherhawk essences in your practice, I would love to hear your stories and experiences, answer your questions, and share your insights in the newsletter and on the website. I am also offering a practitioner discount, so please contact me nanci@featherhawk.com and let's spread the word!

6. I don't often link to sites outside of featherhawk, and this article caught my attention today. "Cells that Read Minds" Can this explain why some people are so sensitive to the people and environment around them?

MONKEY SEE
When a monkey watches a researcher bring an object-an ice cream cone, for example - to his mouth, the same brain neurons fire as when the monkey brings a peanut to its own mouth. In the early 1990's, Italian researchers discovered this phenomenon and named the cells "mirror neurons." For the complete article, click here: http://www.nytimes.com/2006/01/10/science/10mirr.html
