I
have just returned from nearly two weeks in California!
The first week I was with my niece, Susan, in West Point
(small town in the Sierra Nevada Mountains about an
hour and a half from Sacramento). We had a wonderful
visit.
West
Point has a small health food store called *Sage*
that has an amazing assortment of health supplements,
books, personal care products, and gifts in a lovely small
space. Several women attended a free lecture on essences,
and I was also able to do personal sessions for people (plus
two dogs and a cat and some land!). It was a very welcoming
group!
If
you're ever in West Point, stop in and say "Hi!" to
Ann,
the owner.
The
local Harvest Festival was celebrated on September
20 & 21 while I was there. Ann had a booth and I joined
her, sharing essences with people from the surrounding
communities.
Always
a sucker for a puppy, the highlight of the festival
for me was a visit from talented local artist, Monica Lewis.
She brought a 3-week old rescued puppy to the festival with
her. She was feeding him every two hours around the clock,
and his eyes were just barely opened the first day.
His
name was Harlan (for Kentucky celebrity Harlan
Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame... the pup had
a small white goatee on his chin.) He was a real cutie!
By Sunday he had already grown and was noticeably
stronger. Prayers for his continuing health and growth.
The
festival included great food, awesome musical enter-
tainment, and high temperatures (it was 102 one day!).
I was afraid I would melt when I found out how hot it
was going to be, until I remembered that "dry" heat
was
very different from the humid, muggy heat we have here
in Southern Indiana. Dry 102 degrees was very nearly
comfortable in comparison!
On
September 26 I said goodbye to West Point and
headed down the mountain to Sacramento, where, the
Labyrinth Society's international gathering began.
I
am a new member of the Society and was impressed
with the wide range of people, labyrinths and information
presented. My passion for sacred geometry was fed with
two presentations by Robert Gilbert (http://www.vesica.org)
and a remarkable video extravaganza from Jonathan Quintin
(http://www.sacredgeometry.com). (Note: I couldn't connect
with this link; hoping it was a temporary problem. If you
do a search for "Jonathan Quintin" you will find other
sites
that have some of his mandalas. They are quite beautiful.)

were represented, with both the
Chartres Labyrinth set (Creativity & Ego essences - all
sacred geometry), and the Chakra Set - all stone essences.
One of each set was included in the Society's silent auction,
and two happy people took them home.
If
you have any interest in these remarkable sacred pathways,

You will be amazed at the amount of information there is about
them!
Next
years' gathering is in Baltimore, Maryland. Perhaps
I'll see you there!

essences and the 7 Path Labyrinth
There
has been a set of essences that correspond with
the Chartres Labyrinth for more than two years - the
Creativity & Ego Set. These are a select group of
essences from the Sacred Geometry Series that expand
and enhance your experience of the Chartres or 11-Path

Stone
Essences have a special affinity for the
7-Path or Cretan Labyrinth
featherhawk
has selected a set of Stone Essences
that resonate deeply with the 7-Path Labyrinth and the
human Spirit, supporting emotional balance and spiritual
transformation.
The
set includes 8 Stone Essences plus Labyrinth,
made from the energy of the 7-Path labyrinth itself.
Descriptions are included farther down in the e-zine.
Suggestions
for use: Check essences before you enter
and after you leave the labyrinth. Carry them in and check
if you get stopped on the path or are otherwise guided to
use them. Check when you get to the center. When you
exit, check to see if you need to take essences for a few
days or weeks.
If
you are walking a table-top labyrinth, keep the
essences next to you and check as needed. Take
the essence corresponding to the path you're on
or the color you feel is appropriate. Take any that
call to you.
Sometimes
the Classical labyrinth has colors in the
paths: Enter on Yellow, then Orange, Red, Green, Blue,
Indigo and Violet, with a short Magenta path leading
to the center, which can be white.
I've
also seen labyrinths where the entry color is Red,
then Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet.
And
I've walked wood and paper labyrinths and Earth
labyrinths that had no colors at all.
Please
Note: There is no Universal Law stating this is
"HOW IT IS." You may experience different colors, or
the
same colors on different paths, or no colors. These are
guidelines. Trust what you get, and use the labyrinth
and essences as they call to you.
The
Stone Essences
The
information below includes the Chakra, the color
and stone essence associated with the Chakra, followed
by the essence description for the stone. Then there is a
short paragraph describing the location of the Chakra,
the gland associated with it, and a brief description of
its characteristics.
Note:
The colors of the paths and chakras do not match
the physical colors of the stones in most cases. Stones
were selected for their vibrational correspondence to the
labyrinth, not their colors. Descriptions include information
relating to the traditional colors of the chakras, not
necessarily their location on the labyrinth.
Root
Chakra - Red - Fossil Bone
Stabilizes form and structure. As you move through
chaos and transformation, the form and structure of
the Whole of You is continuously realigned. Fossil Bone
enables your Wholeness to adapt to changes easily and
maintain structural integrity.
Root
Chakra (base of spine; adrenal glands) -
Tribe, society, family patterns and beliefs, your relationship
to your larger community, your sense of groundedness
and belonging. Impacts legs, feet, immune system,
kidneys, spinal column.
Sacral
Chakra - Orange - Fluorite
For purification, cleansing and transformation of old
patterns; stabilizes relationships; harmonizes and
energizes the etheric body.
Sacral
Chakra (sacrum; gonads) - One-on-one
relationships with others, power, money, partnership,
creativity, fertility, and sexuality. Impacts sexual organs,
reproductive system, pelvis, hips, digestion.
Solar
Plexus - Yellow - Citrine
Warms the physical body. Clears thoughtforms and
stabilizes emotions, aiding concentration and
centeredness. For clearing and aligning the Whole of You,
attuning you to your Higher Mind, your God-Self.
Solar
Plexus Chakra (solar plexus; pancreas) -
Your personal power and beliefs, self esteem, relationship
to yourself, your sense of honor. Impacts all organs in the
abdomen, digestion, middle spine, nervous system.
Heart
Chakra - Green - Arrowhead
Stay in your heart and do your work. Integrate past life
lessons and cut away old patterns and behaviors that
no longer serve you. For transforming Judgment,
against yourself and others, into Forgiveness.
Heart
Chakra (heart center; thymus) -
Your emotional power and center of Universal Love.
Your master guide; connection between spirit and
body. Impacts heart and circulatory system, lungs,
shoulders and arms, diaphragm, blood.
Throat
Chakra - Blue - Fairy Stone
For integrating spirit and matter in this dimension.
Throat
Chakra (throat; thyroid) - Your power
of Will, surrender to Divine Will. Where heart and
mind meet and you speak your truth. Impacts throat,
neck, voice, mouth, teeth and gums, hypothalamus,
bronchi, lungs.
Brow
Chakra - Indigo - Silver
Stimulates detached observation of yourself, enabling
you to recognize the value of every experience or lesson i
n your life, especially if you don't like it or it doesn't seem
"logical." Enhances intuition. Brings understanding
and
awareness to the Silver Cord connecting your Mind
with Higher Mind.
Brow
Chakra (middle of forehead; pituitary gland) -
The power of the mind and seat of inner vision. Impacts
brain, nervous system, left eye, ears, nose, lower brain.
Crown
Chakra - Violet - Gypsum
Allays the tension of the outer quest by linking the
conscious mind with the inner mystic.
Crown
Chakra (top of head; pineal gland) -
Your spiritual connection to All That Is. Impacts muscular
system, skeletal system, skin, right eye, upper brain.
8th
Chakra - Magenta - Clear Quartz
Receiver and amplifier of energy and information; aids
communication with all aspects of your being. Synchronizes
the Whole of You with All That Is, opening you to wisdom,
guidance, and alignment with the Higher Will.

Chakra (above the head; no gland correlation) -
According to the teachings of Hanna Kroeger, the color
Magenta represents the vibration of the Christ. It is
sometimes included on the final path before entering
the center of the 7-path labyrinth.
Labyrinth
Travel to the Inner Sanctuary.
This essence draws on the energy of the 7-path or
Cretan labyrinth, one of the most ancient symbols of
civilization. For walking the sacred and singular path
to Spirit and back again with confidence, knowing
you can only do it right.
Work
with the essences and the Labyrinth together or
separately. My most important recommendation is that
you always trust your inner guidance.

What
are we doing?
"May
you live in interesting times." And indeed, we do.
Every
day in the news it appears we are going into
international meltdown. I say we have an unprecedented
opportunity to create peace and healing on Earth.
We get to choose.
We
seem to have forgotten that Love really is all there is.
Essences and the labyrinth provide symbolic access to the
Love that you are. This is not to say you have no access
without these things; you are always Love. And, the use
of ceremony and tools like these can bring added focus
and intention to your inner spiritual work, and to your
own knowing of your Self as Love.
I
urge you to discover (or perhaps a better word is "remember")
your Self as Love. It is my wish that you will also remember
the peace that lives within you, and share it generously and
fearlessly with all Life on Earth.
You
do make a difference.
P.S.
My prayer is that this country will refrain from going to
war with Iraq. Or anyone else, for that matter. There are plenty
of ways to invest our time, money and energy in the world
and they are far more productive and intelligent than killing
people.
Please
contact your local, state and national representatives
and let them know how you feel about this issue. Even if,
heaven forbid, you disagree with me and support war with
Iraq. We must retain our freedom to speak our truth.
